About
Katie is an experienced clinical psychologist who brings a warm, authentic and pragmatic approach to therapy to help her clients feel understood and supported. Katie enjoys working collaboratively with people to help them gain new insight, develop new skills and work towards making meaningful changes.
Katie works with adults of all ages who present with a range of concerns including depression, anxiety (including worry or overthinking, social anxiety, health anxiety and phobias) and stress (including academic or workplace related), self-esteem concerns, addiction, sexual health, and adjustment to stressful life events (including illness/health concerns). She has a special interest in working with young adults.
Katie works primarily within a cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) framework, as well as using other evidence-based therapeutic modalities including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), motivational interviewing and mindfulness-based techniques.
Katie has prior experience working with people experiencing a variety of mental health concerns mostly in the public sector. She also currently works part-time in a hospital setting with people who are undergoing complex medical treatments.
Katie completed her undergraduate studies in psychology at the University of Sydney and post-graduate clinical psychology training at the University of Technology Sydney, and she is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
